Ana grew up in Roswell, New Mexico as an undocumented immigrant until she and her mother were naturalized during Anas senior year of high school, allowing her to attend college. She continues being an advocate for the Emergent Bilingual students and the Hispanic community. I identify as an advocate for multilingual students and multilingualism, centered around the implementation of effective and responsive instructional practices for multilingual learners. Being in a leadership position to advocate for families, I realize the importance of educating parents, especially parents who have just immigrated from Central and South America, on the educational journey of their children.
